Professor to Playwright - Footnotes to Footlights

Dorothy spent much of her adult life as a management professor, most recently at Vanderbilt University. Prior to that, she was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Economics-Prague, teaching MBA students and practicing managers.

She has published 15 books, including Understanding Management, Managing With the Wisdom of Love, and Love Lift Me Higher.

A study of how women were depicted in Top-40 music culminated in the book RESPECT: Women and Popular Music. This evolved into a four-woman musical, RESPECT, which has since played in 44 cities to about one million people.

Several other musicals followed, including SISTAS, which has played Off-Broadway for over two years and recently came out on DVD.
Dorothy now teaches Leadership and Managment Skills courses part time at Columbia University.

She recently has embarked on a new project called "Problem-Solving Musicals," a team-building exercise where managers in groups choose real problems and write a 10-minute musical as a means of resolving the conflict.
